Hidden Legends: Academy of Magical Creatures
The Academy of Magical Creatures series is part of the Hidden Legends Universe. It is set within the same world as the Prison for Supernatural Offenders series (by Megan Linski & Alicia Rades), College of Witchcraft series (by Alicia Rades), and the University of Sorcery series (by Megan Linski). Each Hidden Legends series takes place within the same world, but in separate and unique societies. The Hidden Legends universe features college-aged protagonists attending magical academies, dual points-of-view, disability and diversity representation, and sexy times. Every series stands on its own, and they can be read in any order.
The Fire Prophecy
(Academy of Magical Creatures Book One)
Fire and Water don’t mix.
I’m Sophia Henley, your typical college freshman. I never expected a lion to be stalking me, nor for fire to come shooting out of my hands to protect my sister. Next thing I know, a drop-dead gorgeous guy shows up on my doorstep to sweep me away to a magical school, where I’ll learn to control my element and bond with a powerful creature called a Familiar.
I don’t believe I’m the savior of an ancient tribe, or the missing piece of a prophecy that’s more myth than reality. Worst of all, I’m forced enter the Elemental Cup, where I’ll either earn my place in this society… or die trying.
The night I met Sophia, I didn’t think we’d form an undeniable connection. But I’m from the Water tribe, and she’s fire. I’m forced to push her away even as I’m falling for her.
I lost everything, yet Sophia makes me whole again. Our world is fixed on keeping us apart, but we’re in this tournament together. We have to keep each other alive at any cost— or I’ll give my life for hers.
It’s pretty clear. If I continue to play with fire, I’m going to get burned.
The Water Legacy
(Academy of Magical Creatures Book Two)
Fire and Water are forbidden.
Liam and I survived the Elemental Cup, but the tournament was only the beginning. The Koigni Elders were impressed by my performance and believe I can help them take over the entire tribe.
But they're asking me to fight for a cause I don't believe in, and forcing me to use my magic in ways that feel wrong. I must learn how to use my powers to contact the ancestors— or I’ll lose everyone I love.
Sophia Henley’s now my girlfriend. And, oh yeah, I’m supposed to kill her.
The Water council has promised they’ll bring my Familiar back from the dead— my literal soul— if I take Sophia’s life. But I love her more than I love myself. How can I make such an impossible decision? Even worse, how could I possibly live without her?
But this isn’t about us anymore. If don’t fulfill my mission, thousands will die… and Sophia and I are both keeping secrets that will change everything.
The Earth Legend
(Academy of Magical Creatures Book Three)
Fire and Water are outlawed.
Orenda Academy has changed. Familiars are going missing, and a mysterious plague has taken over the school. Someone in the castle is behind it, but the culprit is out of reach.
I don’t even know who I am anymore. To find out, I’ve started searching for the family I never knew. Finding myself is the only way to continue this journey.
Lives have already been lost. If we don’t find the next piece of the prophecy soon, it’ll be impossible to save the tribe.
Last semester, I was betrayed by everyone I love. Months have gone by, and I still don’t know who to trust.
Sophia and I are both broken. There’s no fixing the damage that was done. Friends have become enemies, and enemies have become major threats. Now our relationship is being put to the ultimate test.
If the Elders find us guilty, we’ll fail to stop what’s coming. Answers to the prophecy are just out of reach, and we’re running out of time to change the future...
The Air Omen
(Academy of Magical Creatures Book Four)
Fire and Water fight back.
The battle for Orenda Academy has begun. The Elders have spoken, and the tribe is divided. The only way to reverse what’s happened is to take a stand.
We’ve started a smuggling operation to help students escape the castle, but it could cost us our lives. The prophecy is about to come true, and we’re desperate to change the course of this war.
The Air piece of the prophecy is our last hope. If we don’t find it, we won’t know what’s coming— or how to prevent the end.
The tribe’s darkest hour has come. Students labeled as “weak” have been subject to persecution. Sophia and I are no exception. The Elders consider us a threat— but they don’t know just how great of a threat we are.
An underground revolution is taking place. My father has set out to undermine the Elders, and he’s asked for my help. Information is needed, and to get it, I’ll have to become a spy, and risk execution.
In the middle of it all, I’m about to pop the question. I just hope I survive long enough to ask Sophia to marry me.
The Elemental War
(Academy of Magical Creatures Book Five)
Fire and Water join the rebellion.
We’ve found all four pieces of the prophecy, but it’s already too late. The prophecy has come true, and we’ve been forced to flee our home. The Elders are hunting us down, and there’s nowhere to run.
But we can’t just abandon our people. Returning to Kinpago proves more difficult than we thought, but this time, we’re coming back with an army. I’m ready to lay my life down for the tribe...
Until an unexpected discovery changes everything.
In the midst of war, Sophia and I are ready to take our vows. But getting married in the middle of genocide isn’t just dangerous, it’s deadly. My friends and I have allied ourselves with an underground group of elementals. To survive, we must unify the Hawkei into one tribe.
My people need someone to follow. I must take my place as the leader I was always meant to be, and make amends with the ancestors if we’re going to survive.
But Sophia isn’t the only one I need to protect. A new beginning is on its way, and once it arrives, nothing will ever be the same.
The Soul Sacrifice
(Academy of Magical Creatures Book Six)
Fire and Water make the ultimate sacrifice.
The final battle has arrived. We’re prepared to face the Elders, but we can’t do it without the Azaimperiai. The ancient artifact will summon the ancestors to fight beside us. It’s our only hope at winning this war.
But first, we must find the Familiars the Elders stole— before they can slaughter them and kill our people. We’ve finally discovered the true meaning of the prophecy, but it’s nothing like we expected.
The prophecy says I’ll lose my life to save the tribe. Nothing could ever prepare me for leaving my daughter behind.
At the end of the world, things have never looked better just as they’re falling apart.
My daughter gives me hope for the future, but there won’t be a future for her if the Elders continue to rule. To defeat them, we have to make a last stand. The fate of the Hawkei will be determined in the greatest battle of our time. If the rebellion falls, our people will be lost forever— as well as our magical creatures.
Yet the prophecy is clear. To prevent the Elementai from going extinct, a sacrifice must be made. Sophia and I have to choose between saving our tribe... or saving our family.
