Today author Alicia Rades is guest posting a character interview with Crystal Frost, the leading lady in her psychic high school drama, Fire in Frost! Her best friend, Emma, is interviewing her today. You can find the Crystal Frost Series here on Amazon.
Emma: Hi, Crystal! I have some questions from our readers about the Crystal Frost series. Are you up for answering them?
Crystal: Sure! I’m basically an open book. Well, depending on when you meet me in the series.
Emma: You mean, you weren’t always an open book?
Crystal: Definitely not at first. When I discovered I was psychic—and that my mother was, too—she warned me to hide it. Of course, I couldn’t keep it from you! You’re my best friend. But I didn’t want the rest of the school to know, even though they probably would have just laughed it off.
Emma: So, tell us about the series. How many books are there?
Crystal: Sure! There are currently three books out. Fire in Frost starts when I discovered I was psychic. I began to uncover secrets of those around me—including that my mom knew the paranormal was real when she led me to believe my whole life that it was just for fun! In Desire in Frost, I go on a journey to rescue a kidnapped girl. Then in Inspired by Frost, I receive a warning that I have to save a girl named Sage from dying. I didn’t know her at the time, and I didn’t know how she was going to die. That was a tough one.
Emma: Are there any more books planned?
Crystal: There’s one more book that will be the last in the series, Fading Frost. Not to give too much away, but I end up losing my psychic abilities for some time during this book—right when I’m sent into another mission to save people.
Emma: So, our readers want to know what kind of psychic abilities you have.
Crystal: Well, for one, I see ghosts. That was my first indication that I was going crazy—I mean, that I was psychic. *laughs* I can also see into the future and the past and find objects through touch. Sometimes the smallest things just come to me. I always know what’s on the lunch menu even when I haven’t checked.
Emma: Awesome. One more question from our readers. Why should they pick up the series?
Crystal: Well, that kind of puts the pressure on, doesn’t it? *laughs* For one, Fire in Frost has won several awards. It’s an Indie B.R.A.G. Medallion Honoree and was named one of the top 50 indie books of 2015 by Readfree.ly. In addition to earning 5 stars from Readers' Favorite, it was awarded an Honorable Mention in the Readers' Favorite 2016 International Book Award Contest in the YA Paranormal category. Plus, it’s free. You can’t really go wrong with free, can you? *shrugs* And, I don’t know. I find ghosts and psychics pretty fascinating. I hope that’s enough to make readers want to discover my story.
Emma: I know the paranormal intrigues me! But that’s all we have time for today. Thanks for joining us and answering our readers’ questions, Crystal!
